Crafted with care, this is our only essential oil candle made using Bulgarian Lavender and Indian Frankincense 🪻 - two of the very few essential oils known to be safe for both dogs and cats. Together, they create a soothing aroma that helps ease anxiety and promote relaxation for pets and humans alike.

There is a lot more of you guys since I last introduced myself so I thought it would be fitting to have a chat and tell you where Smudgy Scents started. 💕

I’m Amy, the owner of Smudgy Scents. In 2019 I met my partner Ben online, when people ask us how we met I often feel like our story isn’t that exciting having met on a dating app but never the less its our story and quite honestly Smudgy Scents probably wouldn’t exist without him. I previously worked in retail for about 6 years, it had its ups and downs but when the job started to affect my mental health it was time to get out and start a fresh.

I knew I wanted to have my own business and had the idea of crystals, candles, home decor as my thing but needed to refine it to exactly what. Then it clicked, two things that help me when I feel anxious or down Crystals AND Candles combined! Great now we need a name, something meaningful, memorable, unique. This took the time and one day it just came Smudgy Scents (named after my late cat Smudge but also with the witchy vibes of smudging sticks and scented candles).

You will often find me and Ben both behind the stall at events and sometimes with our Cockapoo Ralph too! Come and say hi next time we’re out and about, we love to have a chat with you all!

As we all know consistency is key to posting on social media but who else literally gets a major social media content block?!?? Also lets keep it real here… our last show we were at was incredible and we sold out of so much stock, then I took a couple of days to reset and just felt burnt out, burn out developed into a dreaded cold and dreaded cold developed into sinus infection requiring antibiotics. Big BOO! 👎🏻

All small business owners will know work doesn’t stop even when you’re ill, so I've still been here behind the scenes working in my soft office (aka bed or sofa). We have a started on a really exciting collaboration with @rise.withholly and @plantedholistictherapies which if you follow these lovely ladies you will have seen already and we have new website coming super soon, you all asked for a digital version of our loyalty card and soon all will be revealed! ✨

Now I'm starting to feel better and I've got back into the workshop today! We’ve got our first Christmas market of the year this weekend so I’ve started with your favourite Christmas scents! 🎄When we launched our Christmas range you sold us out on the same weekend which I still can’t believe, so do keep your eyes peeled over the coming days to see our restock.

New to our Autumn 2024 collection! Enchanted Forest is a heady wood fragrance with cedar, patchouli, pine and vetiver. With notes of lavender and rosemary on an earthy base of incense, labdanum and precious amber. I felt we were lacking an intensely woody pine fragrance, the sort that is described in all the cowboy romance books!
